Me, rather than messin’ with hiring someone to put in a chip for me, I’d rather have software do the job.  No messing with the guts of my Wii for me — one thing goes wrong and I have to get another.  Even if it is no longer warrantied, why change the hardware when you can do all the things that a Wii ModChip can do by just loading software?

Here’s what the say at Wii-modchips.com “Modchips typically require some level of technical ability to install. Most commonly, Wii modchips must be soldered on to a console’s DVD drives motherboard. We hope there will be no-solder install kits (which instead rely on the precise positioning of electrical contacts within the case) which work with some revisions of hardware but at this point there are no Plug-n-Play mods for Wii.”

I don’t want to mess with anything that messes with the electronics of my Wii – I don’t want to take the chance to mess anything up on the guts of my console and even the Wii Fusion Modchip can’t make backups so why pay that money for something that only partially works?  I don’t get that.
